Kaia Hastings — Founder & CEO, Broken Chain Living

Kaia Hastings, a proud Memphis native raised in the rural areas of the city, is the Founder and CEO of Broken Chain Living, a supportive independent senior housing program dedicated to providing second chances for seniors, veterans, and seniors returning from incarceration, as well as older adults facing housing hardship.

The name Broken Chain Living reflects Kaia’s vision and purpose: breaking the chains of the past — whether cycles of incarceration, housing instability, or long-term hardship — so individuals can begin truly living again with dignity, independence, and purpose.

Kaia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration and a Master’s degree in Justice and Security, combining academic insight with a lifelong passion for community service. With more than eight years of experience in the criminal justice field and over 15 years in customer service and leadership, she brings a rare blend of structure, compassion, and operational excellence to her work.

Throughout her career, Kaia has become known for her commitment to organization, accountability, and empowerment. She has witnessed firsthand how stable, appropriate housing can determine whether individuals successfully rebuild their lives or fall back into instability. That experience fuels her dedication to creating clean, respectful, and structured housing environments where seniors can regain control, confidence, and independence.

Through Broken Chain Living, Kaia continues her mission to open doors, restore hope, and provide seniors with the foundation they need to rebuild, reintegrate, and thrive with dignity.

It Started with a Purpose and a Promise

Hello, I’m Kaia Hastings, Founder of Broken Chain Living.

I began this journey with one purpose — to give people a place to start over. Over the years, I have met so many men and women who simply needed one thing: someone to believe in them.

I’ve seen veterans forgotten, elders overlooked, and seniors returning from incarceration trying to rebuild after life knocked them down. I knew something had to change — and I wanted to be part of that change.

Broken Chain Living was created from both pain and purpose. It represents freedom — freedom from the weight of the past and the barriers that hold people back. Every chain that breaks represents a story of strength, a new chapter, and a reminder that no one is beyond restoration.

As a Memphis native, a mother, and someone who has walked alongside individuals seeking hope, I built this program to serve people who too often get left behind. Here, we don’t focus on where you’ve been — we focus on where you’re going.
